Public urged to take advantage of opportunity

In celebrating International Youth Day this year, the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) is inviting members of the public to visit their booth at the Fiji National University (FNU) Nasinu Campus Multi-Purpose Court from today Friday 11th and tomorrow Saturday 12th of August 2023.

FEO Director Operations Anaseini Senimoli said that services which are normally provided at the Voter Services Centres, will be provided on the two days at the FNU Nasinu Campus Multi-Purpose Court.

“For these two days, members of the public who have lost their Voter Identification (ID) card or who wish to have a new Voter ID card done, can come and see the team and have the changes made. We are bringing our services to the people on the two days and I encourage the public to take advantage of this opportunity,” stated Ms. Senimoli.

The Director added that it was important for members of the public to provide the required documents when requesting the services of the FEO.

“To avoid confusion and misunderstanding, members of the public who wish to have their new Voter ID card done, will be required to provide the following;

Birth Certificate (Original or Certified True Copy) and any of the following valid Photo IDs:

·       Fiji Passport (valid);

·       Fiji National Provident Fund;

·       Driver’s License;

·       Social Welfare ID;

·       T.I.N Card (Joint FIRCA/FNPF); and

·       Student ID from any Tertiary Institution registered with Fiji Higher Education Commission.

“To have a replacement Voter ID card done, members of the public are advised to produce any of the following Photo IDs. They could be any of the following;

·       Fiji Passport (valid);

·       Fiji National Provident Fund;

·       Driver’s License;

·       Social Welfare ID;

·       T.I.N Card (Joint FIRCA/FNPF); and

·       Student ID from any Tertiary Institution registered with Fiji Higher Education

        Commission.

“The team will be on standby to answer any queries members of the public might have. However, I urge our youths, especially those who are eligible to vote but are still without Voter ID cards, to visit our booth and have their cards done.

“They don’t need to worry about paying anything, because it’s Free of Charge. They will only need to bring the required documents and of course, a parent or guardian (who are also registered voters) to accompany them. The FEO booth will open from 8am to 3pm on the two days,” said Ms. Senimoli.
