MEDIA ACCREDITATION

Elections play an important role in the democratic process of any country. Section 52 of the Constitution of the Republic of Fiji 2013 requires the members of Parliament to be chosen by secret ballot in a free and fair election. FEO strives to incorporate international best practices whey they accord with Fiji’s electoral legal framework.

If you are from a media organisation, freelance journalist, broadcaster or publisher, you will be required to be accredited if you are planning to cover the 2022 General Election.

At first, you must register with the Media Industry Development Authority of Fiji [‘MIDA’]. Please refer to the MIDA website at www.mida.org.fj for information on the application requirements and procedures for registration with them. This application must be submitted to MIDA. If it is successful, MIDA will issue a Certificate of Registration to you.

Once the Certificate of Registration is obtained from MIDA, you will then be required to submit the following to FEO:

  1. Completed 2022 General Election Media Accreditation Form (per Applicant).
  2. 1 digital copy of your colored passport size photo (35mm x 45mm). This must be taken with a white colored background.
  3. A copy of your Certificate of Registration with MIDA.

You can submit your application to the following addresses:

  1. Email: electionmedia@feo.org.fj
  2. Hand Delivered: St. Fijian Elections Office, St. Stephen’s Building, Victoria Parade, Suva.

There is no fee associated to this accreditation process.
