The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) confirmed that the Proposed ‘Liberation of Fiji Party’ submitted an application for registration to the Registrar of Political Parties, Ms Ana Mataiciwa, today, Wednesday 03 June 2026.

Ms Mataiciwa confirms that FEO is now preparing to publish the party’s application in a newspaper and in the Gazette, as required under the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013.

“Once the publication is made, the objections period will officially open,” said Mataiciwa.

“Any person may submit a written objection to the FEO regarding the party’s application for registration, during the objections period.

“We will assess and respond to all objections within seven (7) days of receipt, after giving the proposed party an opportunity to respond, and afterwards inform both the objectors and the applicant party of the decision.”

The Registrar of Political Parties said the proposed political party will be advised on whether its application for registration has been approved or rejected, after the completion of this process.

She reiterated that this decision will be made after a thorough compliance check with all requirements set out in the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013.

The FEO stresses the importance of transparency and public participation in the Political Party Registration Process. It ensures that all proposed parties meet the legal requirements and that the public has the opportunity to engage meaningfully.
