For Political Parties

A political party is an association of persons or organisation established to promote the election of one or more candidates to Parliament in a general election. In Fiji, political parties must be registered with the FEO in accordance with the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013. As of now, there are seven registered political parties operating in the country.

The FEO manages the following political parties’ affairs:

  • Registration of political parties;
  • Establishment and maintenance of the Register of Political Parties;
  • Funding and accounts compliance;
  • Candidate nominations process; and
  • Election campaigning compliance.
