The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) confirms that today, Wednesday 20 May 2026, the Proposed ‘NeXTGEN ALLIANCE PARTY’ (NGAP) is resubmitting a new application for registration to the Registrar of Political Parties, Ms Ana Mataiciwa.

Ms Mataiciwa confirms the Proposed NGAP is submitting a fresh application after their previous application, submitted on 21 November 2025 was rejected. This was due to failing to meet the minimum required members for the Northern, Western, and Central Divisions.

“The FEO is now preparing to publish the party’s application in a newspaper and in the Gazette, as required under the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013. Once the publication is made, the objections period will officially open,” said Ms Mataiciwa.

During the objections period, any person may submit a written objection to the FEO regarding the party’s application for registration. The FEO will assess and respond to all objections within seven (7) days of receipt after giving the proposed party an opportunity to respond and afterwards inform both the objectors and the applicant party of its decision.

Following the completion of this process, the proposed political party will be advised on whether its application for registration has been approved or rejected. This decision will be made after a thorough compliance check with all requirements set out in the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013.

The FEO reiterates the importance of transparency and public participation in the political party registration process. It ensures that all proposed parties meet the legal requirements and that the public has the opportunity to engage meaningfully.

NeXTGEN ALLIANCE PARTY re-submits the application documents to the Registrar of Political Parties.
