The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) is pleased to acknowledge and endorse the Civic Awareness Campaign launched today by the Ministry of Local Government in preparation for the upcoming Local Government Elections. The launch marks an important milestone as Fiji begins the national journey towards one of its most anticipated electoral events.
Representing the Supervisor of Elections (SoE), the Acting Deputy Supervisor of Elections (ADSoE) Ms Anaseini Senimoli expressed the FEO’s excitement as the awareness initiative signals the official commencement of nationwide election preparations.
“This launch kick-starts work towards the much-anticipated Local Government Elections. After more than two years of consultations and collaboration with the Ministry, Municipal Councils, and partners, we are excited to see this initiative come to life,” said Ms Senimoli.
Ms Senimoli highlighted that the Civic Awareness Campaign will help communities better understand the purpose of local government, the role of elected councillors, and why participating in the elections is essential.
“This campaign will ensure every Fijian is informed, confident, and empowered to participate meaningfully in the Local Government Elections,” said Ms Senimoli.
The FEO formally congratulates the Ministry of Local Government for leading the national awareness programme and acknowledges the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening civic understanding at the community level. Ms Senimoli also recorded the FEO’s endorsement of the initiative and reaffirmed the Office’s readiness to support the Ministry throughout the elections process.
“The FEO congratulates the Ministry of Local Government for spearheading this important campaign. We proudly endorse this initiative and stand ready to support the Ministry as we work together towards delivering the Local Government Elections for Fiji,” said Ms Senimoli.
The launch programme in addition to the unveiling of the Civic Awareness Campaign, also included technical sessions with Municipal Councils and the FEO on election administration resources and civic education messaging.
