The Fijian Elections Office [‘FEO’] would like to retract its earlier statement during the press conference on 2 September 2022 and confirm that FijiTV did actually report titled, “Supervisor of Elections [‘SoE’] clears the air on Electoral Amendment” which was aired on 30 August 2022 on their 6pm news bulletin.
The SoE would like thank FijiTV for their accurate and in-depth coverage of the event.
“We thank FijiTV for their due diligence in reporting correctly on the story as their video recording supports the comments which was made during the press conference,” Mr Saneem said.
“Members of the public in Fiji who rely on these media organizations such as FijiTV which has a massive audience reach, should disseminate the most relevant and accurate information in relation to the practical reasons for proposing the amendments.”
