The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) is pleased to announce the confirmation of Ana Salaivalu Mataiciwa as the substantive Supervisor of Elections (SoE) with immediate effect. This appointment comes following a letter received today, Friday 10 May 2024, from His Excellency the President of the Republic of Fiji, acting upon the advice of the Constitutional Offices Commission (CoC).
Upon receiving her confirmation, the SoE expressed her gratitude to Almighty God for the opportunity to serve in this role. Ms. Mataiciwa also extended her heartfelt thanks to all those who supported her during her tenure as the Acting Supervisor of Elections, as well as to the members of the public for their encouragement and prayers.
“I am humbled and full of gratitude firstly to God Almighty for the opportunity to serve my country for such a time as this, secondly to all those that stood by me during my tenure as the Acting Supervisor of Elections, and also to all the members of the public for their encouragement thoughts and prayers,” said the SoE.
Ms. Mataiciwa emphasized her commitment to executing her duties in line with the Constitution and laws of Fiji.
“In my substantive appointment, just as I have done during my tenure as the Acting Supervisor of Elections, I will continue to carry out my duties and responsibilities in line with the constitution of Fiji, and my actions will always be reflective of this,” said the SoE.
Prior to her appointment as the Acting Supervisor of Elections in January 2023, Ana Salaivalu Mataiciwa served in various roles within the FEO, including Acting Deputy Supervisor of Elections, Manager Legal, and Legal and Compliance Coordinator since 2014.
