The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) has commenced its nationwide Election Officials Training today, marking another major milestone in preparations for the upcoming General Election.
The first training began in Suva today and will progressively roll out across the four (4) divisions, continuing through to November 2026.
While opening the Election Officials Training, Supervisor of Elections Ms Ana Mataiciwa said a total of 13,861 Fijians have successfully passed the Computer-Based Test for Election Officials. We are currently verifying the documentation of successful applicants as part of the ongoing process to confirm participants for training.
“This training will continue from today until November and will see a total of 70 Field Trainers conducting approximately 720 training sessions nationwide,” Ms Mataiciwa said.
“To our Election Officials, your selection comes with an important responsibility. When the General Election comes, you will be among the thousands of men and women entrusted with delivering the election on the ground. You will be the face of the Fijian Elections Office at our polling venues and polling stations. For many voters, you will be their direct experience of the electoral process. This is why training matters.”
The SoE reminded the participants that the laws, manuals and Standard Operating Procedures provide the framework, but it’s the participants who put them into practice; accurately, consistently, professionally, and impartially.
The FEO acknowledged its Learning and Development Department and Field Trainers for their extensive preparations ahead of the nationwide rollout.
The FEO thanks all successful applicants who have chosen to serve as Election Officials and contribute to the delivery of the upcoming General Election.
