Ara na yadra, Bula Vinaka and a Victorious Morning to you all.
Today marks an important milestone for the Fijian Elections Office as we formalise our collaboration with the Ministry of Immigration through the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding.
This partnership strengthens the integrity of our electoral processes by enabling the verification of passport details to ensure that the National Register of Voters remains accurate and up to date.
Through this MoU, we will enhance data sharing, support voter registration and nominations processes, and improve services for Fijians both locally and abroad. This is a practical step towards building greater trust through strong institutional cooperation.
The FEO will ensure that all shared data is accurate, necessary, and handled in accordance with legal and procedural requirements, with appropriate safeguards in place. This partnership is not just about data, it is about trust, cooperation, and delivering electoral services that have the confidence of all Fijians.
As we prepare for upcoming elections, collaborations like this are essential to ensuring our processes remain robust, transparent, and credible. The Fijian Elections Office looks forward to working closely with the Ministry of Immigration in the spirit of shared responsibility.
