Members of the Fijian Elections Office family;
And all participants,
Ara Na Yadra and a Victorious Morning to you all,
In life, we are either in a storm, about to enter one, or coming out of one. These storms can be uncertain, demanding, and test our resolve. But it is in these very moments that we are called to stand firm, to rise, and to move forward with purpose. Today marks not the beginning of a storm, but our preparation to navigate through it together, and to emerge stronger on the other side, victoriously.
I am pleased to be here with each one of you gathered today for this important training. I also extend my sincere appreciation to the Learning and Development Department for their tireless efforts in organising and delivering this training.
You have been selected as participants in Phase 1 of the Training of Trainers Programme, and you will play a critical role in strengthening the Fijian Elections Office’s training capacity.
This Phase 1 training is being delivered across all divisions, Central, Eastern, Western, and Northern, which marks the beginning of a structured three-phase programme designed to build both foundational and technical competencies.
This is not just a training, it is the foundation of a national effort. Through this programme, you will go on to train thousands of Election Officials in preparation for the upcoming elections.
As future trainers, you are not just participants, you are leaders and ambassadors of the Fijian Elections Office. The responsibility you carry is significant. You will ensure that training is delivered consistently, accurately, and in line with the standards and procedures of the FEO.
I encourage you to approach this training with commitment and discipline. Pay close attention to the methodologies, systems, and materials that will be covered. Be open to learning, to sharing, and to strengthening one another as a team.
There will be challenges ahead. But through preparation, teamwork, and dedication, we will succeed.
And in moments when the work feels difficult, remember the words of Habakkuk 3:19: “The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on the heights.”
Let this remind you to never give up and to keep moving forward with strength and purpose.
Your commitment will ensure that we deliver well-trained, capable, and confident Election Officials. Thank you once again for stepping forward to serve.
May you be guided in your work, strengthened in your resolve, and protected in your service to our nation.
On behalf of the Supervisor of Elections, I have the honour to officially declare Phase 1 of the Training of Trainers Programme for the Central and Eastern Division open.
