Members of the Voter Perception Survey Committee,
Training participants, and
FEO colleagues.
‘Ara na yadra and a victorious morning to you all.
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Voter Survey Assistants Training. Over the next two days, you will gain the skills and knowledge needed to conduct the Voter Perception Survey and refresh your understanding of the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) process.
Today, our focus is on the Voter Perception Survey, an essential initiative for gathering feedback from voters on their electoral experiences and expectations. As Voter Survey Assistants, you play a crucial role in capturing these insights, which will directly inform our efforts to enhance services and better understand voter needs.
Your role extends beyond data collection, you are ambassadors of the Fijian Elections Office (FEO). You will engage with citizens across diverse communities, listen to their voices, and ensure their feedback is accurately recorded. This requires not only technical skills but also empathy, impartiality, and professionalism.
Tomorrow, we will shift to a refresher on Biometric Voter Registration. This session will revisit key aspects of the BVR process, with an emphasis on accuracy and security to uphold the integrity of our electoral roll. It is important that you are confident in these procedures to ensure that every eligible Fijian can participate in our democratic process.
Both the survey and registration processes are foundational to our mission of fostering a transparent, inclusive, and fair electoral environment. Your dedication to these tasks helps us build trust and credibility within the communities we serve.
Throughout this training, I encourage you to engage actively, ask questions, and share your insights. Your experiences in the field are invaluable for refining our approaches and improving our outreach.
As you prepare for this important work, remember that every interaction you have contributes to the FEO’s reputation and the success of the electoral process in Fiji. Approach these tasks with dedication, knowing the impact you can make.
Thank you for your commitment to this initiative. I look forward to seeing the positive outcomes of your efforts.
With those words, it gives me great pleasure to declare the Voter Survey Assistant’s Training open. May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and be gracious to you and may he give you peace.
Thank You, Vinaka Vakalevu.
