The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) today launched the YES Outreach, an initiative where the FEO will bring the electoral process directly to the people of Fiji, both at home and abroad.
The outreach, anchored on the message “Your Election, your Say,” is designed to ensure that every eligible Fijian understands their role in the democratic process and can participate with confidence.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Electoral Commission Chairperson, Justice Usaia Ratuvili, emphasised that the initiative reinforces a fundamental democratic principle, that elections belong to the people.
“The YES Outreach reminds every Fijian that their voice matters and that involvement is not optional in a democracy, it is fundamental to it,” said Justice Ratuvili.
Justice Ratuvili reiterated that this is the people’s election and their participation will make a difference.
“Public confidence in elections is built on three key elements, that voters understand the process, can participate, and trust that the process is fair and credible. Initiatives such as the YES Outreach contribute directly to all three,” said Justice Ratuvili, adding that as Fiji prepares for both the Local Government Elections and the General Election, clear and consistent communication will be critical to ensuring that all voters are well-informed.
The Supervisor of Elections, Ms Ana Mataiciwa, said the YES Outreach represents a unified and people-centred approach to voter engagement, bringing together voter registration, community engagement, and awareness efforts under one coordinated framework.
“The YES Outreach begins the moment people register, and it grows as Fijians understand what elections are truly about,” said Ms Mataiciwa, adding that their mission is to bring voter registration and awareness closer to every Fijian, both locally and overseas; to ensure every eligible voter is registered; and to make sure that voter details are up to date well ahead of the upcoming elections.
Ms Mataiciwa reiterated that all Fijians should be active participants in our democracy and make the time to register, update details, and most importantly, when the time comes, cast your vote.
The Nationwide Voter Registration and Awareness exercise will commence today and run until 13 June 2026, bringing voter services directly to communities across Fiji. The exercise will include Provisional voter list verification and targeted outreach to secondary schools, tertiary institutions, villages, settlements, and business houses. Organisations are also encouraged to request the FEO to conduct voter registration at their workplaces through the following link:
