The Supervisor of Elections [SoE], Mr Mohammed Saneem, presented the findings on the Pre-Election Voter Survey Report to youth representatives of Integrity Fiji at Holiday Inn on 7April 2022.

Whilst presenting the findings of the survey, the SoE took the youth participants of this forum through some of the details and analysis of the data gathered during the survey and explained the aspirations, knowledge and expectations of voters when it came to general elections.

“The participants during the presentation were very much interested in learning about the election processes in Fiji and asked questions in relation to the integrity of the processes as well as the credibility of some of the Fijian Elections Office [FEO]’s information and other election related information that is found on social media,” said Mr Saneem.

“The youth representatives took this opportunity to ask me about the processes in the general election and how the FEO takes necessary steps to ensure that the accuracy in the election information, especially the results that is published after the elections.”

The FEO is keen to engage with youth groups so that it is possible to enhance youth participation and greater understanding of the electoral processes in Fiji.
