Divisional Managers for Central and Eastern Divisions;
Division Operations Coordinators;
Members of the Fijian Elections Office family;
And all participants,
Ara Na Yadra and a Victorious Morning to you all,
It is a pleasure to be with you this morning as we commence the Divisional Voter Registration Training for our Central and Eastern Division teams.
I extend my sincere appreciation to all of you for your continued commitment and for the effort that has gone into preparing for this important training.
This training forms a key part of our broader preparations for the nationwide voter registration exercise, including our readiness towards the upcoming Elections. It builds on the Training of Trainers, where your divisional leadership teams were equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills that will now be cascaded to each of you.
The objective is simple but critical, to ensure that every member of the FEO family is well-prepared, consistent in approach, and confident in delivering voter registration services across your respective areas. Remember, voter registration is the foundation of credible and transparent elections.
For divisions such as Central and Eastern, where we serve a diverse population across urban, peri-urban, rural, and maritime communities, the importance of accuracy, accessibility, and consistency in our work cannot be overstated.
The integrity of the Register of Voters directly determines the credibility of both the Elections we conduct. Every registration you process ensures that an eligible Fijian has the opportunity to participate in shaping our nation’s future.
Each of you will soon be deployed across your respective areas.
You are the frontline representatives of the Fijian Elections Office. In many communities, you will be the face of the electoral process, and for some, the only direct point of contact with the FEO. Your role is therefore not only technical, but also one of service, trust, and engagement.
I urge you to approach your responsibilities with the highest level of professionalism. Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in every registration. Follow procedures and guidelines consistently. Treat every voter fairly, impartially, and with respect.
At the same time, how we deliver our service matters just as much as what we deliver.
Every interaction is an opportunity to:
- Build confidence.
- Demonstrate strong customer service.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully.
Always maintain professionalism whether you are engaging face-to-face, over the phone, or within your communities. These efforts are critical as we continue to strengthen public trust and confidence in the work of the Fijian Elections Office.
I encourage you to actively engage in this training. Ask questions, seek clarity, and ensure that you fully understand the processes and expectations. What you learn here will directly influence how effectively we deliver voter registration services throughout the Central and Eastern Divisions.
Your commitment and performance in the field will contribute directly to the successful delivery of credible elections in Fiji.
In closing, I thank each of you for your dedication and your willingness to serve.
I wish you all the very best for this training and for your upcoming assignments.
With those words, I officially declare the Divisional Voter Registration Training for the Central and Eastern Divisions open.
Vinaka vakalevu.
