FEO to directly serve Notice to Fiji Labour Party Representative

The Fijian Elections Office[‘FEO’] will be taking steps to directly serve the notice issued to the representative of the Fiji Labour Party [‘FLP’] requiring him to correct his statement issued earlier during a campaign rally of the Fiji Labour Party.

“We have had to do this because Mr Chaudhry from the Fiji Labour Party refused to cooperate in serving this notice to his own party representative despite having his full contacts and details and also having allowed the person to speak at the Fiji Labour Party rally. It is quite unfortunate that the Fiji Labour Party fails/refuses to carry out an important function under the law,” explained Supervisor of Elections,” Mr Mohammed Saneem.

The Fijian Elections Office wishes to highlight such conduct of the Fiji Labour Party and its reluctance in participating in efforts to ensure that the most correct information is relayed to the members of the public during the 2022 General Election Campaign.

“The FEO will continue to monitor campaign practices of all political parties and instances such as the current one will be dealt with in accordance with the law,” Mr Saneem said.
