The Fijian Elections Office [‘FEO’] commenced the training of Voter Registration and Awareness Assistants in the Northern Division today in preparations for its nationwide drive which starts in August.

Whilst speaking at the official opening, the Deputy Supervisor of Elections Mr Craig Rickards, reminded the participants on upholding the principles of honesty and impartiality in the conduct of their duties.

“The FEO prides itself in providing the highest quality of electoral services to all Fijians and in a manner that is professional, effective and timely,” Mr Rickards said.

“Therefore, it is important that you carry out your roles diligently and in a manner that is not only done – but is seen by the members of the public to have been done right.”

The training which is also being simultaneously conducted across all divisions will equip the 217 participants with technical skills on voter registration as well as broaden their knowledge of elections so that they are able to register eligible voters, provide voter services and conduct voter education which will enable Fijians to successfully exercise their right to vote in the 2022 General Election.

The FEO will be conducting its Nationwide Voter Registration and Awareness Drive from 01 August to 03 September, 2022.
