Collaboration with Development Partners for Political Party Capacity building. From the 26 to 28 February 2024, your Fijian Elections Office was able to participate in open dialogue discussions with members from all Political Parties that gathered for the All-Party Conference on Strategic Communication and Social Media, organized by the International Republican Institute (IRI) at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.The conference was divided into three (3) days with each day addressing different cohorts of representatives from political parties:Day 1: Party leaders and executives;Day 2: Women representatives; andDay 3: Youth representatives.The first session of each workshop day was set aside for representatives to raise their concerns and challenges in open dialogue to the FEO. The Acting Supervisor of Elections Ms. Ana Mataiciwa was thankful to the IRI for their collaborative efforts towards capacity building and training for political parties and urged the representatives present to give raw feedback to the FEO to allow the FEO to engage partners like the IRI to provide more capacity building opportunities. "I’m thankful to our development partner IRI for organizing this platform, that allow us to collaboratively build capacities of political parties to allow for enhanced participation in the Electoral process in Fiji", said Ms. Mataiciwa. The IRI organized political and electoral strategists from the United States and the United Kingdom as guest Facilitators for the conference. The Acting Supervisor of Elections Ms. Ana Mataiciwa opened Polling for 620 students and teachers of Vunimono High School in Nausori this morning. The School took to the polls this morning to elect their School Head Boy and Head Girl as well as their Year 11 and 12 Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl. Despite the unfavorable weather the ASoE was delighted to see the smiling faces of the students to attend the opening of the polls and cast their votes for their student leaders. Vunimono High School is one of the 10 pilot schools in the Central Division that the School Elections Toolkit (SET) Pilot Programme is currently being undertaken.#iamsetforelections See MoreSee Less

A total of 176 students and teachers today voted for the school’s Head Boy, Head Girl and Deputy Head Girl.The ASoE was delighted to see the set up of the elections and commended the school for implementing transparent and credible processes in electing student leaders at Noco Secondary School.
